The Beginner Sewist - Bec's Journey into Sewing

I have to admit that there hasn't been a lot of sewing going on in my house this month. Between work, homeschooling my kids and their activities and having just moved into a new home, I just haven't found the time to sit down at the machine, or when I have its been late, I'm tired and too many mistakes were happening.

So, now things are settling I am definitely going to be putting aside some time for me and have started planning some makes. I am loving the look of this Emerson Wrap Skirt pictured and would like to give this a go... any one made one and got tips for me?

I also have a Night Garden Top/CharliAnne Skirt hack planned, as well as a couple more mini items for my daughter, new bikinis, some shorts...actually the list is never ending!

As a newbie one of the most difficult parts of the process for me is deciding which fabric should be used for which project. When a far more experienced sewing friend was over I took the opportunity to get her thoughts on the fabrics I have and together we piled them and made a future project list. Nothing technical - just sticky notes pinned to the fabric so I remember what I'm doing!
