Did you even think it was possible that the Bondi Top could get any better? Well it just has!!! Now you can make your favorite top into a full length dress! Talk about best pattern hack EVER!!

When I designed the Bondi Top this year, I had absolutely no clue how popular it would be. It seems like once you make one, you just can't stop... Do you feel that way too?

I have made so many tops that it got me to thinking... I love dresses, let's make a Bondi Tunic!! When I was given a couple pieces from the new range Good Hair Day by Kim Andersson for Wyndham Fabrics, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. Who knew how cute bobby pins and braids could be! I am in LOVE!

And here is a look at the entire Good Hair Day Range. Now Available at Hawthorne Threads.

So that you can share in my excitement...I have whipped up a little tutorial for you all. Click here to download the directions for How to Lengthen.

Don't have the Bondi Top Pattern??? Not to worry. Head on over to our shop to get yourself a printed or PDF copy. Click Here.

Just imagine this is a chambray denim, a voile, or even a knit. The possibilities are endless. Make sure to check in next week when I show you how to insert the casing. It's super simple, but I think it really makes this pattern hack extra special.

I hope you enjoyed today's pattern hack. I can't wait to see your version. Be sure to tag @sewtogrow on instagram or facebook to share your makes with me!

Happy Sewing,

Lindsey Rae

Love how you’ve transformed the original Bondi Top into a tunic and proved you don’t always need a brand-new pattern for a fresh wardrobe piece. The clear steps and photos make this hack feel achievable, even for beginners. I really like how this approach is similar to designing multifunctional space-saving furniture, where one base design can be adapted for different uses with a few smart tweaks. This post definitely inspires me to look at my existing patterns differently and experiment more with simple hacks like this
