Cotton Poplin

100% COTTON 120GSM 147CM WIDE

Poplin is a lightweight, lustrous, breathable fabric suitable for spring and summer clothing and home décor items. Soft, light, and cool with a fine, tightly closed weave, it combines the strength and durability of the poplin weave with all the benefits of cotton. Poplin is durable and easy to maintain while offering comfort, and an appealing, smooth texture. To sew cotton poplin, use a universal or standard-sized needle (80/11 or 80/12) and all-purpose thread. Prewash cotton poplin to avoid shrinkage. You may wish to prewash before sewing.

Cotton Drill

100% COTTON 240GSM 137CM WIDE

Drill has a twill weave which makes it a very strong, dense medium weight fabric that is robust fabric and easy to maintain. The twill weave means it has characteristic diagonal lines on the fabric which adds an interesting texture and a better drape than other heavy fabrics. It’s a popular choice for both structured and casual garments like jackets, overalls and pants, as well as bags, children’s wear and home furnishings. To sew cotton drill use a 90/14 needle and cotton or all-purpose thread. When cutting pay close attention to the grainline.

Jersey

95% COTTON 5% SPANDEX 200GSM 150CM WIDE

Our cotton jersey is a knit fabric with a touch of spandex that gives the fabric excellent stretch qualities. It is comfortable, soft and stretchy with great drape, and suitable for a wide variety of sewing projects including t-shirts, dresses, pants and tops. The fabric’s breathability and ability to hold its shape make it a favored option for casual, comfortable garments and the ideal choice for active wear. To sew jersey use a 75/11 or 80/12 ballpoint needle and a polyester thread. A stretch or zigzag stitch will maintain flexibilty.

Rayon

100% RAYON 110GSM 140CM WIDE

Rayon is a semi-synthetic fabric made of cellulose fiber such as wood pulp or bamboo. Soft, silky and lightweight, it has a similar drape to silk and a smooth hand, yet it is also a strong fabric. Rayon’s fluid drape makes it a great choice for clothing that flows, from drapey tops to loose bottoms. To sew rayon, use a 80/11 needle and cotton or all-purpose thread. Prewash rayon to avoid shrinkage. To care for your rayon makes, wash in cold water on the delicate cycle, and avoid the tumble dryer. Linen

55% LINEN 45% COTTON 185GSM 145CM WIDE

Linen is known for its luxurious feel and beautiful drape, while cotton is renowned for its softness and versatility. When combined, linen and cotton create the perfect blend of comfort and style. Linen’s moisture wicking and breathable properties complement cotton’s softness and versatility, resulting in a durable fabric that offers the best of both worlds. Linen cotton blend is lightweight and airy, making it ideal for summer clothing. To sew use an 80/12 Microtex or universal needle.

Wide Back

100% COTTON 145GSM 274CM WIDE

Our Wideloads 108” cotton is a medium weight fabric which is heavier than poplin. Because of this weight, it is excellent for looser fitting, structured garments like tops, full skirts or pyjamas. It is also extremely durable thanks to it’s tighter weave and high thread count, so you can wash and wear it with ease again and again. The extra width makes it an ideal choice for large home furnishing and decor items like tablecloths and bed covers. To sew Wideloads, use a universal needle, such as a size 70/10 or size 80/12 and cotton or all-purpose thread. Prewash to avoid shrinkage. Wash in cool water with a mild detergent and dry naturally or with low heat.
